Accessibility

Updated November 5, 2026

We want the people who use our apps to be able to enjoy them, whatever their eyes, hands or attention allow on a given day. This page says plainly what our apps do today, what they don't do yet, and how to tell us when something gets in your way. It describes our own design and testing, not a formal conformance assessment.

How We Design

Dark by design. Every one of our apps and games is built dark: deep backgrounds with bright text and controls. Many people find that easier on the eyes in low light, at night or when bright screens are tiring, though it isn't the best choice for everyone; tell us if a dark screen makes an app hard for you to use.

One thing at a time. We keep screens uncluttered, with no advertising, promotional pop-ups or banners competing for your attention.

At your own pace. Several of our games, such as Paahu and Bhrama, have no timers and no way to lose. Our puzzle games offer hints that help you along without ending the game.

Help that teaches. Where a game is hard, we explain it in the app, in plain words.

What We Don't Support Yet

We'd rather be honest than make promises we can't keep:

  • Screen readers. Our apps aren't built for VoiceOver or TalkBack yet. Some menus and text may be read aloud, but our game boards and many controls don't yet provide the descriptions a screen reader needs, so the games can't be played with one.
  • Larger text. Some games keep their text at a fixed size so the board fits on the screen, so your device's larger-text setting may not change them.
  • Reduce Motion. Not every game follows your device's Reduce Motion setting yet.

We're always looking for ways to make our work more inclusive, and we use your reports and our own testing to guide improvements in future updates.

Our Publications

Our five publications are built to be read by everyone: images carry captions and text descriptions, and the writing is built to work with screen readers.

This Website

This site uses the same dark design. Images carry text descriptions, links in text are underlined, every page has a link to skip straight to its content, and the menu button works from the keyboard. The scrolling banner on the home page has a pause button and stays still when your device asks for reduced motion.

Tell Us

If something in one of our apps or on this site gets in your way, email support@deepdarkabyss.com. Tell us the app or page, your device and system version, the app version, any assistive technology you use, and what happened. You don't need to tell us anything about your health. A person reads every message, and your reports guide what we improve next.
